Product Details

Ballast typically contains a mixture of particles ranging from 0mm up to either 10/20 mm, depending on the required finish. The blend of sharp sand and aggregate ensures a well-balanced mix that compacts efficiently and delivers reliable strength.

Ballast is widely used for forming the base of garden sheds, greenhouses, domestic footpaths, steps, and other general concrete works where a robust and stable foundation is needed.

Due to its high fines content, ballast is not suitable for drainage applications, but it excels in situations where a smooth or compacted finish is required. Produced to BS EN 12620 and BS EN 13242 standards, this aggregate provides a compliant and dependable solution for all standard concrete and foundational needs.
