Product Details

Day Aggregates’ Rail Ballast is a quarried, crushed granite rock, graded 32/50 mm with no fines, and produced to meet stringent Network Rail specifications.

This high-quality ballast is designed to be packed between and around railway sleepers, enabling effective load distribution, water percolation, and the suppression of plant growth that could interfere with track stability.

When compacted, the angular nature of the aggregate ensures the ballast holds together firmly, providing a stable and durable track bed. Fully compliant with BS EN 13450, Rail Ballast can also be used as a fines-free sub-base in drainage applications, haul roads, and hard standings, where both strength and drainage are required.

Product supply may be subject to geographic availability.
