Product Details

Sharp Sand consists of particles ranging from 0/4 mm, sourced from both marine and land-based quarries. Its coarse, gritty texture and angular shape make it ideal for use as a bedding layer beneath paving slabs and blocks, where it provides stability and promotes free drainage.

Sharp Sand is also widely used in concrete mixes, screeding floors, and as a general fill material on site.

Marine-sourced sharp sand is often favoured for screeding due to its cleanliness and consistency, while land-based sources may contain larger pieces that can cause blockages if pumped.

Sometimes referred to as Thames Washed, Coarse Sharp, Grit Sand, Screeding Sand, or Concreting Sand, this aggregate is produced to BS EN 12620 standards, ensuring quality and compliance for contractors.
