Standards vs Specifications
Understanding the difference between standards and specifications is critical to correct material selection.
We guide you through both – ensuring clarity, compliance, and confidence at every stage.
Read our detailed guide to standards and specifications.
Standards
Define how materials are tested and assessed.
Specifications
Define how materials must perform in a specific applications.
Proven and Consistent Performance,
Whatever the Material
Primary, recycled, and manufactured aggregates are all assessed to the same technical standards and specifications, ensuring consistent quality and performance across every material.
Testing & Technical Data
All Day Aggregates recycled and manufactured aggregates are rigorously tested to comply with European Standards and national specifications, including the Specification for Highway Works (SHW).
For quarried and dredged aggregates, we maintain a comprehensive technical data library of information from our trusted third-party suppliers.
- Testing carried out by UKAS-accredited laboratories
- Results available on request
CE Marking & Declarations of Performance
Under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), products covered by a Harmonised European Standard must be CE marked and supported by a Declaration of Performance (DoP).
Some highway materials, such as SHW Clause 803 Type 1 and 600 Series Capping, are not currently harmonised and therefore do not require CE marking. Our technical team can confirm marking and documentation requirements for your specific application.
Factory Production Control (FPC)
Factory Production Control is a permanent, audited system that ensures consistent product quality from raw material to dispatch.
Our FPC systems are audited against relevant BS EN standards and maintained as part of our ISO 9001:2015 certification. When a product is supported by FPC, its declared performance is continuously verified at source.
