Product Details

Building Sand consists of particles ranging from 0/2 mm, sourced from selected quarries to ensure consistent colour and grading. The sand may be dry screened or washed, with each quarry producing sand of slightly different hues and silt content, which can affect the workability of mortar mixes.

For best results, it is recommended to use sand from a single source for each project to maintain colour consistency, and to keep the sand moist when stored on site.

Also known as Mortar Sand or Soft Sand, Building Sand is ideal for producing smooth, easily worked mortar for laying bricks, blocks, and paving, as well as for internal rendering and plastering. It can also be used as a bedding layer where a stone-free sand is required.

Produced to BS EN 13139 standards, this aggregate provides contractors with a compliant and reliable solution for all general building and masonry needs.
