About the Role
As a Supervisor within our contracting team at Day Group Ltd, you will play a hands-on leadership role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient running of site operations. Working closely with the Works Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, and productivity, while motivating and leading your team to deliver on the company’s objectives.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong sense of responsibility, practical problem-solving ability, and the confidence to lead by example in a busy operational environment.
Package
Annual salary plus the 9% non-contributory pension with Scottish Widows. You may be entitled to the discretionary Annual and Christmas bonuses. Annual leave of 29 days per year, including 8 Bank Holidays.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Works Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the site

Implement the Company Health & Safety Policy and uphold environmental and quality standards

Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are up to date and relevant

Take ownership of procedures and work instructions to drive consistent standards

Organise workloads and staff to achieve efficiency and productivity targets

Motivate and lead depot staff by example, upholding the Company’s Visions & Values

Liaise with the Logistics team to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve issues quickly

Ensure plant and equipment is properly maintained to maximise availability and safe operation

Monitor site activities including handling loose aggregates and operating process equipment

Accurately complete and submit weekly production logs.

Carry out any other reasonable tasks to support the safe and efficient running of the site
Person Specification

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, organise, and develop a team

A proactive and responsible approach, with a strong focus on safety and quality

Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams

Organised and detail-focused, with the ability to prioritise and problem-solve

Willingness to take ownership of tasks and set a positive example to others

Previous experience in a supervisory role within aggregates, construction, or a similar operational industry is desirable
Working hours/times
10 hours per day Monday – Friday, between the hours of 07:00-17:00 with a 1-hour paid break for lunch.
