Day Aggregates has an enhanced waste management and muck away services based from its newly developed Battersea facility, supporting construction and infrastructure projects across South and Central London. The facility serves as a hub for the import of fully compliant, high-volume removal of non-hazardous soils and stones from construction sites across London. With integrated rail freight connections, the site enables the efficient bulk transport of materials to licensed disposal and recycling centres entirely by rail. Day Aggregates’ rail freight transport service from Battersea plays a key role in reducing road impact across London. By shifting bulk waste removal locally from lorries to rail, each outbound train eliminates the need for over 75 HGV journeys, easing urban congestion, cutting emissions, and enabling cleaner, more efficient logistics for large-scale construction projects.
What You’ll Do
As a Depot Operative – Excavator Driver , you’ll play a key role in keeping the site running smoothly. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work as part of a team in a busy environment.
- Operating Wheeled Loading Shovel and/or Excavator (MPQC, CPCS, CSCS or equivalent is essential)
- Loading trucks, moving, and repositioning aggregate materials and other products in the bays and around the depot
- Carrying out general yard duties, including maintenance and cleaning of the yard
- Always keep the site safe and tidy
- Follow health, safety, and environmental rules
Ideally you will bring experience from a quarry, recycling, or mineral processing environment.
Hours:
45 hours per week, Monday to Friday
0700-1700 (including 1-hour unpaid break)
About You
You must have the appropriate ticket to operate Machinery over 10 tonnes
Physically fit and happy to work in an active role
A positive, “can-do” attitude
Reliable and able to work well with others
