New Woking Rail Siding

Over the past two weeks rail contractor KGJ Price has worked alongside the Woking operations team to install a new and realigned siding. Works took place through torrential rain and high winds to make the connection to the NR infrastructure and this morning the depot received its first train from Torr Quarry.  All of the above was achieved without the loss of a single train into the depot. The realigned track design will enable between 4 and 5000t of additional storage within the depot along with improved vehicle routes. All of the newly installed infrastructure will be suitable for reuse in the future if the proposed siding redevelopment takes place.
