Logistics Coordinator - Purley Depot

If you would like to work for a successful, family owned and run, business then we have a rare opportunity to join a friendly, proud and hardworking team in our busy Logistics Office in Purley as a Logistics Coordinator.

You will need to:

Your key responsibilities:

  • Practice and promote the Company's values of pride, respect, security and excellence
  • Adhere to and promote good safety practices
  • Take orders from customers, usually over the phone
  • Schedule, plan and allocate work to dozens of different drivers each day
  • Source third-party haulage
  • Monitor incoming materials
  • Administration of vehicle earnings and drivers' wages

Working hours / times: 48 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:30 and 17:30 plus five hours on 1-in-3 Saturday mornings between 6:30 and 1200.

Salary dependent on experience and aptitude. Benefits, after a successful probationary period, will include: two bonus payments per year; an employer pension contribution of 9%; a 'Death in Service' benefit; 20 days paid annual leave, which are in addition to the bank holidays. General Yard Labourers - Avonmouth Depot

Day Aggregates is one of the most successful suppliers of primary and recycled materials to the construction industry in the South. The business operates 21 sites stretching from Gloucestershire and Dorset across to London and into Kent.

We currently have an exciting opportunity at Avonmouth Dock, for two self-motivated and enthusiastic individuals to work as General Yard Labourers.

Working under the direction of site Management the successful candidates will be responsible for keeping the site safe and tidy and the manual handling of material. No previous experience is required but a 'can do' attitude is a must. Applicants should also be proactive and flexible as overtime may be required at times.

There may also be the opportunity to be trained on operating fixed and mobile plant.

Working hours are expected to be 12:00 - 22:00 Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend working maybe required.

This will be a salaried position and will also include an additional attendance bonus. There is also an annual profit-share bonus and a Christmas bonus.

Holidays are 20 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays plus a Birthday holiday.

Class C LGV Driver - Avonmouth Depot

Day Aggregates is one of the most successful suppliers of primary and recycled materials to the construction industry in the South East. The business operates 21 sites across Kent, Sussex, Surrey, London, Hampshire, Gloucestershire and Dorset.

We are now recruiting for a Class C LGV Driver to join our busy Logistics and Transport team at Avonmouth Depot, near Bristol.

Key responsibilities include:

  • The completion of daily vehicle checks and correct defect reporting, to ensure we always remain legal and compliant.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Tachograph rules and regulations.
  • Ensuring safe and timely deliveries to our customers.
  • Bulk tipping work and aggregates deliveries.
  • Be a good ambassador for the Company both on the road and on site.

The successful candidate must hold a Category C licence. They should also be reliable, able to prioritise their workload and have a methodical approach.

Tipping experience is preferable, but not essential. Full training will be provided.

Working hours: 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday. If business needs dictate, you may be required to work Saturdays.

Floating LGV Driver

Day Aggregates is one of the most successful suppliers of primary and recycled materials to the construction industry in the South. The business operates at over 20 depots sites across South East and South West of the UK including Greater London.

We are currently recruiting for a Floating LGV Driver to join our team. The position offers the opportunity to work from a variety of Company depots.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out LGV driving
  • Driver's training
  • Completing annual appraisals for the drivers

C+E driving licence and 2 years LGV driving experience, ideally including artic tipping, is desirable. Confidence to operate as a knowledgeable member of staff, mentoring drivers new to the role. Must be a good ambassador for the Company both on the road and on site.

This role will centre around the centre of our operational area and therefore the ideal candidate would live within easy reach of ours sites in West Sussex and Hampshire, although the role will require travel to most Company depots at certain times of the year. A fully expensed company van will be provided for travel to and from work.

A reliable and flexible attitude is a must.

Working hours: 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday with an option to work alternate Saturdays.

Salary dependent on experience.

Sales Systems Administrator - Brentford Head Office

We are looking to recruit a Sales Systems Administrator to join the Sales and Invoicing team based at our Brentford Head Office. This position will report to the Sales Systems Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out order pre-checks and invoice processing
  • Manage general sales applications and system maintenance
  • Offer CMDseries application user support
  • CMDseries involvement with upgrades and issue management
  • Maintain system costs for both loose and bagged materials
  • Liaise with Accounts department to resolve supplier invoice queries
  • Co-ordinate cross departmental tasks and improve communication
  • Process customer complaints and non-conformance cases
  • Raise credit notes and carry out general office administration

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of Microsoft BI reporting
  • Office365, CRM, PowerApp development.

Person Specification

  • The employee must show a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Attention to detail is a prerequisite for the role
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of tasks
  • Excellent knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, Pivot Tables and Outlook, and task management are essential

    Plant Operative - Tolworth Depot

    Day Aggregates is one of the most successful suppliers of primary and recycled materials to the construction industry in the South. The business operates 21 sites stretching from Gloucestershire and Dorset across to London and into Kent.

    We are currently recruiting for a Plant Operative to join our busy production team at Tolworth Depot.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Bagging materials
    • Operating Telehandler, Skid Steer and Counterbalance
    • Discharging material from trains
    • Assisting other Yard Operatives
    • Keeping the site safe and tidy and manual handling of materials

    Telehandler Forklift or Counterbalance Forklift experience is preferable. Any other licences are welcome.

    Full training will be provided.

    We are looking for a reliable, hard working individual with a 'can do' attitude.

    Working hours: 55 hours per week, Monday to Friday 0700-1700 and Saturday 0700-1200.

    Benefits after a successful probationary period will include: 9% non-contributory pension, 20 days annual leave plus 12 Saturday holidays per year. Also, Birthday holiday and Bank Holidays. You will have an opportunity to purchase additional 5 days annual leave per calendar year.

    LGV Drivers

    If you are interested in working for Day Aggregates as an LGV driver, please complete and submit the driver application form.

    You must hold a C + E licence, have a minimum 2 years driving experience, and have 5 years checkable work history to obtain an airside pass.

    In return Days offer the opportunity to drive a modern fleet of tipper and artic trucks, basic salary, 8% non-contributory pension plus benefits.
